Emma Stone on the Golden Globes Red Carpet in Calvin Klein
As leading ladies and men walked the red carpet, neutrals ruled in blush, nude, champagne, black, white, with the rare splash of color i.e. Angelina in green sequins, but the scene stealer was Emma Stone in a brilliant peach backless jersey gown by Calvin Klein. Killed it.

Guilty is the new Gucci fragrance just released September 2010. Gucci's ad campaign states, ' It is designed for the glamorous, daring, brave, and very sexy girls who like to party and enjoy themselves.' The face of the advertising campaign is Evan Rachel Wood, singer and actress. Scent is top notes of pink pepper, the heart note of lilac, base notes of patchouli and amber. Okay so I like it. I'm Guilty.
Ford's presentation party to an exclusive guest list numbering less than 100 (including the models) at Ford’s Madison Avenue boutique showcased his Spring 2011 collection on Ford fans such as Lauren Hutton, Julianne Moore, and Beyoncé, among others. Photographer Terry Richardson was the sole photographer allowed to take pictures of the presentation event, and Vogue photographer Stephen Meisel features Angelina Jolie wearing Ford on the cover of the December issue.
Ford returned to fashion after a six year absence showing his collection in NYC for the Spring/Summer 2011 womenswear collection. During fashion week, Ford adamantly refused to allow any photography of his collectionstating, "I don’t get the need for this immediacy. In fact, I think it’s bad. The customer is bored with those clothes by the time they get to the store.” Boring is not the descriptive word of choice for the first release of photos online.

Naming Billy Reid as this year’s winner, the 7th Annual Awards for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund featured Karl Lagerfeld as the keynote speaker. Reid was given the high honors, and a cash award of $300,000. Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung were named runners-up, each awarded $100,000. The awards program was created by the CFDA and Vogue magazine to cultivate emerging fashion talents and further careers with cash awards. Gurung has experienced a meteoric trajectory in his fashion career, kicked off while at Parson's interning with Donna Karan, his first official launch for Fall 2010 at Bryant Park, to dressing Demi Moore and Zoe Saldana. Ultimately collectible fashion.

Karl Lagerfeld announced Tuesday that he is canceling his Paris Fashion Week event under his own label, and instead, is launching mass prestige items for online sale. The combination of the words mass and prestige = masstige and has been described as prestige for the masses. According to Wikipedia, masstige is a marketing term meaning downward brand extension. The term was popularized by Michael Silverstein and Neil Fiske in their book Trading Up and Harvard Business Review article "Luxury for the Masses." Not to be too cynical, but truthfully, prestige is usually accorded to that which is in scarcity. So in other words, Karl, I guess one can never be too thin, or too rich. Visionary or Mercenary?

Designers and their publicists face a delicate dilemma as they prepare this season for New York's Fashion Week insanity - some 300 shows over 8 days - the all important question of who is indeed, a front row fashionista, and who is now demoted to second row citizenry. The untimely death of The Fashion Master of the Universe, Alexander McQueen - whose last collection was a riot of color, a celebration of life exploding onto the scene - has seemingly inspired gray skies for as far as one can see this fall in retail stores nationwide.... I personally have had a difficult time at the keyboard, as the genius of McQueen was so wonderful each season, that the certainty that the world will never again see such wild creativity has left so deep a void as to be without words. As elegant, tasteful, and sophisticated this fall season's palette of neutrals may be, still to me, it's as if the whole fashion world is mourning for Alexander McQueen. Fall Fashion Week begins in New York City in a matter of days, one can only hope that color makes it back in homage to AM, and a rebirth of hope.

Cota has been worn on the red carpet before, but not on such a luminary as Carrie Underwood, known for her fashion hits and misses. Cota, a Mexican-born designer who studied under Angel Sanchez (no red-carpet slouch himself) won the Fashion Group International's Rising Star Award in 2009, and debuted his eveningwear four seasons ago. Carlos Miele's use of color and fabric for Spring 2010 possibly inspired by his work with Sting at The Rainforest Foundation. In conjunction with this year's New York Fashion Week, Miele hosted a private party to raise funds for the organization, entitled 'SAVE ME' with Vanity Fair's photographer/illusrator Micheal Roberts. Interesting to note, Carlos Miele was the designer that launched Gisele Bundchen on the catwalk. Miele's eye for the beautiful is indisputable.

Styled as a class act in this gorgeous silver/nude illusion one shoulder, Taylor Swift lives up to her image as she responds to Kayne West's outrageous behavior at the VMA awards on Sunday, where he grabbed the microphone away from her to tell her she should have lost to Beyonce. Taylor's official comment on the situation is only praise for Beyonce Knowles. The ever-classy Knowles dedicated her award time to Swift and asked the country music star return to the stage to give her speech again, this time without any interruption.

Saks is throwing it down that luxury is not dead. After a year-long renovation, Saks Fifth Avenue celebrated the unveiling of the new designer floor in their New York flagship, home to 49 of the world's finest designer collections. The dinner co-hosted by Charlize Theron and VOGUE served as the floor's official debut and included special guests Blake Lively, Anna Wintour, Rachel Zoe, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, Vera Wang, Tarraji B. Hensen, Alexis Bledel, Christian Siriano, Carolina Herrera and Bruce Weber.
One-of-a-kind cocktail dresses created exclusively for the launch were on display by some of the floor's renowned designers such as Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Vera Wang, DIOR, Zac Posen, Oscar de la Renta, and Jil Sander.
The 50,000 square-foot new floor houses 49 designers who define fashion including 23 designer shops, the complete collection of Louis Vuitton, and a new Fifth Avenue Club – the private shopping environment with spectacular views overlooking Rockefeller Center. Long live luxury!
Off the runways, onto the stage, one shoulder styles are dominating in the USA and around the world. Miss Kosovo Universe rocks a silk taffeta creation in the Evening Gown competition, just prior to being named to 2nd runner up, in the Atlantis resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas, at Miss Universe 2009. Miss Universe is a NBC/Trump property, and was televised around the world on both NBC and Telemundo.
