Carlos Miele's use of color and fabric for Spring 2010 possibly inspired by his work with Sting at The Rainforest Foundation. In conjunction with this year's New York Fashion Week, Miele hosted a private party to raise funds for the organization, entitled 'SAVE ME' with Vanity Fair's photographer/illusrator Micheal Roberts. Interesting to note, Carlos Miele was the designer that launched Gisele Bundchen on the catwalk. Miele's eye for the beautiful is indisputable.
Styled as a class act in this gorgeous silver/nude illusion one shoulder, Taylor Swift lives up to her image as she responds to Kayne West's outrageous behavior at the VMA awards on Sunday, where he grabbed the microphone away from her to tell her she should have lost to Beyonce. Taylor's official comment on the situation is only praise for Beyonce Knowles. The ever-classy Knowles dedicated her award time to Swift and asked the country music star return to the stage to give her speech again, this time without any interruption.

Off the runways, onto the stage, one shoulder styles are dominating in the USA and around the world. Miss Kosovo Universe rocks a silk taffeta creation in the Evening Gown competition, just prior to being named to 2nd runner up, in the Atlantis resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas, at Miss Universe 2009. Miss Universe is a NBC/Trump property, and was televised around the world on both NBC and Telemundo. Miss Kosovo is rumored to have signed a modeling contract with Trump Model Management in New York City. Gown available at La Casa Hermosa.
MISS FLORIDA TEEN USA 2009 TOP FIVE FINALISTS - GOWNS ALL AVAILABLE AT LA CASA HERMOSA
Robin Fleming, La Casa Hermosa quoted in Seventeen - first rule be true to yourself. Pageant contestants sometimes only have a few minutes to get ready in between rehearsals, interviews with judges and photo opps, not the usual hours you would expect them to have, so they have to get it right! Seventeen got the scoop from the pros and competitors alike at the Teen Miss USA pageant on how to always look your best. First, you have to pick the perfect dress. "The rule of thumb is always be true to yourself," says Robin Fleming, a style consultant and owner of La Casa Hermosa in Florida (she's been dressing contestants for years and even gave away an evening gown to every girl that participated in the Miss Teen Fantasy Camp!).
"Imitation may be the best form of flattery, but it's not the winning look. It's just you trying to be someone else. We're always looking for a very personal angle in putting someone together. Also, discover your body type, and refuse to buy garments that do not flatter your figure." Jessica Nowlin, Miss D.C. picked a dress that suits one of her interests. "I'm fascinated with mermaids," she explains. "My evening gown reminds me of The Little Mermaid. It's flowy — it's almost like the ocean is following behind me." Don't go overboard with accessories, warns Robin, who recommends picking only one or two bold items. "I think the bigger the better, but less is more."
